A Student of Birla College, Prakash Gaikwad, used to walk nearly 3 km from his hostel in Shahapur to Asangaon Railway Station to board a bus to Kalyan.
Not anymore. He now pedals to the station and wraps up his otherwise tiring commute in 10 minutes.
"I used to spend Rs 350 to Rs 400 over rickshaw or bus fares per month," said Gaikwad (18), a student of first year microbiology in Birla College. "Now I can save the money as the members of the Vidyadan Sahayak Mandal have given me a bicycle."

The mandal comprising a group of Thane residents was formed in August 15, 2008.
Members foot the education bill of at least one student studying in the remote areas of Thane district. The group recently collected nine second-hand bicycles from Thane, repaired them and gave them to students from Shahapur.

Six bicycles were given to schoolstudents in Kinhavli who walk 6 km daily to reach their schools.

Suhas Chandekar, a member of the organisation, collected seven cycles from his area and gave them to needy students from Thane.

"It all started with vacating our Saket Towers co-operative Housing Society premises of old rusty bicycles," said Chandekar.

"There were about seven abandoned or rusting old bicycles. We put up notices asking their owners to either remove them or clean them," he said.

"We earlier thought of giving them to a scrap dealer. Then I chanced upon an article about a person who collects old bicycles and gives them to the poor and needy. We too, thought of doing the same," he said.

Praveen Padwal, another student, said: "I am a resident of Mallegaon which is 20 km from Shahapur. I got hostel accommodation in Shahapur. But since my college is in Kalyan, I have to travel all the way from Shahapur to Asangaon which means a lot of money for people like us."

"With my new bicycle, I can cover the distance in no time and can save the money too," said Padwal.

Students, who live in the interiors, are asked to drop out of school because their parents feel they can't afford the travel fare.

Satyajit Shah, a member of the organisation, said: "Most students had to walk for 6 km Many of them stay 20 km further in Shahapur. They either have to travel by a bus or an autorickshaw. Their parents feel they can't afford the travel fare and ask them to quit school."

"When we distributed first nine cycles we got 50 more requests. We have now approached people to donate their old bicycles to us," he said

प्रगतीसाठी खारीचा वाटा

आदिवासी भागातील विद्यार्थ्यांना मदतीचा हात देण्याची परंपरा ठाण्यातील आनंदवन सहाय्यक मंडळाने जपली असून या मंडळाच्या स्वयंसेवकांनी शहापूरच्या आदिवासी पाड्यातील नऊ विद्यार्थ्यांना सायकली, एक कम्प्युटर आणि एक मोबाइल फोन, पुस्तकांची भेट नुकतीच दिली.

साकेत टॉवरमध्ये राहणाऱ्या सुहास चांदेकर यांनी परिसरातील रहिवाशांकडून सात भंगार सायकली जमा केल्या. तर, डॉ. प्रसाद कणिर्क यांनी त्यांच्या दोन मुलींच्या सायकलीदेखील मंडळाकडे दिल्या होत्या. या सायकली दुरुस्त करून गोरगरीब विद्यार्थ्यांना देण्यात आल्या. शहरी भागातील अनेक मुलांकडे सायकली असतात. वय वाढल्यानंतर या सायकलींची जागा 'टू व्हीलर' घेतात आणि तिथून सायकलचा वनवास सुरू होतो. प्रत्येक इमारत आणि सोसायटीत अशी मान मोडून पडलेली सायकल असतेच! या उलट चित्र आदिवासी पाड्यात दिसते. नशिबी दारिद्य असल्याने सात-सात किलोमीटरचे अंतर पायी तुडवत या मुलांना शाळा गाठावी लागते. एसटीची सोय असते परंतु, त्याचे सहा आणि सात रुपयांचे भाडे या गरिबांना कुठून परवडणार. त्यामुळेच आदिवासींसाठी ही सायकल म्हणजे मसिर्डीजसमानच! सायकल मिळाल्यानंतर या मुलांच्या चेहऱ्यावरचा आनंद अवर्णनीय होता.

विलेपालेर् येथे राहणाऱ्या मिलिंद पिटकर यांनी घरातला कम्प्युटरही शहापूरच्या विद्यार्थ्यांसाठी दिला आहे. मंडळाचेच कार्यकतेर् असलेल्या ज्ञानेश्वर पष्टे यांनी त्यांचा मोबाइल शहापूर येथील मुलींच्या वसतीगृहाला दिला आहे. या मोबाइलमुळे वसतीगृहाशी संपर्क शक्य होणार आहे. तसेच, या शाळेतील मुलांची वाचनाची आणि संभाषणाची कला वाढावी यासाठी ते विशेष प्रयत्न करत आहेत. भाजपचे आमदार संजय केळकर यांनी या विद्यार्थ्यांसाठी काही पुस्तके दिली असून त्यातून येथे एक वाचनालय सुरू करण्यात आले आहे. या मुलांना परीक्षेचा ताण जाणवू नये यासाठी स्वाती आगटे यांनी 'प्राणायाम'चे धडेही दिले. या शाळेत एक इंग्लिश डिक्श्नरी देण्यात आली आहे. या भागातील एक सजग शिक्षक सुभाष हरड विद्यार्थ्यांचे शिक्षण पूर्ण करण्यासाठी प्रयत्नांची पराकाष्ठा करत असून त्यांनीच मंडळाच्या शिष्यवृत्तीसाठी विद्यार्थ्यांची निवड केली आहे. मंडळाचे कार्यकतेर् नियमितपणे या शाळेला भेट देऊन तेथील समस्या दूर करण्याचा प्रामाणिक प्रयत्न करत असतात. मंडळाच्या या उपक्रमांमध्ये सहभागी होऊ इच्छिणाऱ्यांनी ९९२०३ ६७५७० किंवा ९८२१० ३४४३६ या क्रमांकावर संपर्क साधावा, असे आवाहन करण्यात आले आहे.

भावपूर्व वातावरणात साजरा झाला विद्यादान मंडळाचा वर्धापनदिन
शहापूर/वार्ताहर - शहापूर तालुक्यातील किन्हवली व टाकीपठार या आदिवासी दुर्गम भागातील गरीब प्रज्ञावंत विद्यार्थ्यांचा ज्ञानयज्ञ प्रज्वलित राहावा व त्यांनी कर्तृत्वाचे शिखर गाठावे, याकरिता त्यांच्या पंखात बळ देण्यासाठी गेले वर्षभर धडपडणाऱ्या ठाणे विद्यादान सहाय्यक मंडळाचा प्रथम वर्धापनदिन सोहळा अतिशय भव्य वातावरणात व मोठय़ा उत्साहात साजरा झाला.

किन्हवली येथील शहा चंदूलाल सरूपचंद विद्यालयाच्या सभागृहात ठाणे विद्यादान सहाय्यक मंडळाचा वर्धापनदिन साजरा झाला. या कार्यक्रमास विद्यादान मंडळास मदत करणारे कोकण पदवीधर मतदारसंघाचे आमदार संजय केळकर जनता विचार प्रसारक संस्थेचे कार्यवाह व व्हीजेटीआय कॉलेजचे प्रश्न. संजय मं.गो., प्रश्नचार्य कवी भगवान जाधव, विद्यादान सहाय्यक मंडळाचे संस्थापक भाऊ नानिवडेकर, पत्रकार सुभाष हरड आदी उपस्थित होते.
गेल्या वर्षभरापासून शहापूर तालुक्यातील दत्तक घेतलेल्या २५ मुलांच्या कुटुंबियांमध्ये स्नेहभाव व ऋणानुबंधांच्या नि:स्पृह, निरलस गाठी बांधण्यासाठी ठाण्यातील विद्यादान मंडळाचे दानशूर सभासद आपल्या कुटुंबियांसमवेत खास लक्झरी बसने किन्हवलीत आले होते. यावेळी वर्षभरात विद्यादान सहाय्यक मंडळाच्या दत्तक घेतलेल्या विद्यार्थ्यांमध्ये झालेला बदल त्यांच्या कृतज्ञभाव डोळ्यांतून व फुललेल्या चेहऱ्यातून स्पष्टपणे जाणवत होता.
सुरुवातीलाच आपली शैक्षणिक जबाबदारी घेणाऱ्या पालकांचे व पाहुण्यांचे स्वागत दत्तक मुलांनी रानफुले देऊन केल्याने कार्यक्रमाला नैसर्गिक स्वरूप आले होते व दातेही या स्वागताने भारावून गेले.

विद्यादान मंडळाचे शहापुरातील आधुनिक एकलव्य अंगठा कापून देणार नाहीत, तर प्रचलित व्यवस्थेला अंगठा दाखवून वठणीवर आणतील, अशी अपेक्षा संजय मं.गो. यांनी व्यक्त केली.

आमदार संजय केळकर यांनी सांगितले की, ठाणे विद्यादान मंडळ आदिवासी भागात ईश्वरी कार्य करीत आहे. प्रतिकूल स्थितीत काम करणारी, शिक्षणाचे महत्त्व जाणणारी, नि:स्पृह सेवा करणारी माणसे अभावानेच दिसतात आणि अशी माणसे जेव्हा सर्वसामान्यांसाठी पुढे येतात, तेव्हा सर्वांनाच गहिवरून येते, असे उद्गार केळकर यांनी काढले. पत्रकार सुभाष हरड हे शहापूर तालुक्याचे समाजभूषण आहे, असेही त्यांनी सांगितले.

यावेळी विद्यादान मंडळाचे लाभार्थी विद्यार्थिनी माधुरी विशे व प्रकाश गायकवाड या दोघांना उत्कृष्ट वाचकाचा पुरस्कार देण्यात आला, तर दहावीला ९० टक्के गुण मिळविलेला गणेश शिर्के व ९१ टक्के मिळविलेला योगेश बुंदे या दोघांचा सत्कार पाहुण्यांच्या हस्ते करण्यात आला. मुंबई पत्रकार संघाचा पुरस्कार मिळाल्याबद्दल सुभाष हरड यांचा सत्कार करण्यात आला.

शहापूर तालुक्यातील नारायणगावातल्या झोपडीत राहणारा गणेश जयराम शिकेर् या मुलाने शाळेसाठी रोजची १० किलोमीटरची पायपीट करत दहावीत ९० टक्के गुण मिळवले. रॉकेलच्या दिव्यावर अभ्यास करुन हे यश मिळवणारा गणेश सध्या मुंब्य्राच्या सरकारी पॉलिटेक्निकमध्ये शिकतोय. स्वत:चे घर नसल्याने काकांच्या घरातल्या एका कोपऱ्यात बसून अभ्यास करुन बारावीला ७६ टक्के गुणांची कमाई करणारी मधुरा पांडुरंग विशे आता डी.एड् करतेय. तर, योगेश बुंदेचे वडिल नाका कामगार तर आई मोलमजुरी करते. दहावीच्या परिक्षेच्या आधी आलेल्या आजारपणामुळे १५ दिवस अंथरुणाला खिळलेला असतानाही ९१ टक्के गुण त्याने मिळविले. असामान्य जिद्दीच्या जोरावर अनेक अडचणींवर मात करत यशाचे शिखर गाठणाऱ्या या मुलांच्या कौतुक सोहळ्यात जमलेल्या प्रत्येकाचे डोळे पाझरत होते. विद्यादान सहाय्यक मंडळाच्या प्रथम वर्धापनानिमित्ताने किन्हवलीच्या शहा चंदुलाल स्वरुपचंद विद्यालयात हा कौतुक सोहळा रंगला होता.

बाबा आमटे यांच्या कार्याने प्रेरीत होऊन २००३ साली ठाण्यात आनंदवन स्नेही मंडळ जन्माला आले. त्यावेळी भाऊ नानिवडेकर, जयंत, मोकाशी, मीनाताई पाटणकर या जेष्ठांनी त्यासाठी पुढाकार घेतला. अनिकेत आमटे यांनी हेमलकासा प्रकल्पाच्या एका प्रदर्शनात भाऊंनी अभिप्रायासाठी ठेवलेल्या वहीतून गीता व सत्यजीत शहा, डॉ. प्रसाद कणिर्क, स्वाती आगटे, रंजना कुलकणीर्, जोत्स्ना कदम असे ताज्या दमाचे १० ते १२ कार्यकतेर् मंडळाकडे गोळा झाले. त्यानंतर या मंडळाचे स्वरुप बदलले. सामाजिक कार्य करावे या विचाराने १५ ऑगस्ट, २००८ रोजी विद्यादान सहाय्यक मंडळाची स्थापन झाली. सुभाष हरड या पत्रकाराने प्रशांत विशे विद्यार्थ्याच्या असामान्य कर्तृत्वाची केलेली बातमी या कार्यर्कत्यांच्या वाचनात आली आणि समाजकारणाच्या विधायक कार्याला दिशा मिळाली. ६ दाते, ७ विद्याथीर् आणि ५० हजार रुपयांची गंगाजळीने सुरुवात झालेल्या या संस्थेतल्या दानशुरांची संख्या वर्षभरात ३० वर पोचली असून २५ गरीब आणि गुणवंत मुलांच्या शिक्षणाचा प्रश्न त्यातून मागीर् लागला आहे. या विद्यार्थ्यांची सर्व जबाबदारी मंडळाने उचलली आहे. अभ्यासासाठी जागा, सरकारी वसतीगृहांमध्ये राहण्याची सोय यांच्यातफेर् करण्यात आली आहे. आ. संजय केळकर यांनी त्यासाठी सहकार्य केले.

मदतीचा हा हाताने गुणवंत विद्यार्थ्यांच्या आयुष्याला कलाटणी दिली आहे. प्रशांत गायकवाड हा मुलगा उल्हासनगर रेल्वे स्टेशनातील स्टॉलवर कपबशा विसळण्याचे काम करायचा. त्यानंतरही त्याने दहावीत ८३ टक्के गुण मिळविले. मात्र, पुढे शिक्षणासाठी पैसे नसल्याने तो पुन्हा अंधेरीच्या एका हॉटेलात काम सुरू केले. परंतु, सुभाष हरड यांनी त्याला शोधून काढलं. त्याला आथिर्क मदत मिळवून दिली. त्यानंतर बारावीला ७२ टक्के गुण मिळविणारा प्रशांत आता बिर्ला कॉलेजातून बीएस्सी करतोय. अशाच गुणवंतांचा सत्कार सोहळा किन्हवलीत नुकताच रंगला. कार्यक्रमासाठी आलेल्या प्रमुख पाहुण्यांचे स्वागत शाळेतल्या मुलामुलींनी रानफुले देऊन केले. आ. संजय केळकर यांनी या विद्यार्थ्यांना सर्वतोपरी मदत करण्याचे आश्वासन दिले. मदतीबद्दल मुलांनी कृतज्ञता ठेवावी परंतु, त्याचा न्यूनगंड बाळगू नये असे यावेळी कवी भगवान जाधव यांनी सांगितले.

A year ago Mr. Sriram Nanivadekar [‘Bhau’ to us] and pointed out a story of a boy living below poverty line. He wanted to study and be an engineer. The story was published in Loksatta, a Marathi daily. Good Samaritans stepped in promptly and the boy is now in his second year of engineering course, doing very well academically. Bhau was in dialogue with Subhash Harad, the reporter who published the story.

I published it on my blog [here is the link]. Bhau, now in his seventies, and a very socially active person used to volunteer work for Anandvan, Baba Amte’s establishment that has changed the lives of Aadivasi [a very loose translation would be ‘aboriginals’]. Bhau an engineer knew that ‘organising’ and ‘systematic’ approach was essential if the work was to be carried on in an impactful and meaningful way. He joined the good work started by Subhash Harad, Geeta Shah [a Manager with Wyeth laboratories] and her husband Satyajit who are quiet but great social activists themselves.

Initially contributions were collected from people, there is was no formal organisation, but accounts were meticulously maintained and published. It has been one year since they organised their group called “Vidya-Daan Sahayyak Mandal.” Originally the number of students they took under their wings to support was few. But the approach was systematic. Geeta, Satyajit Subhash would personally visit the house of a bright and deserving student and then extend help. They have adopted over 50 students so far! All this within one year!!

I had the privilege of attending their first anniversary meeting. All students live far below poverty line. They now plan to form a trust. Here are some glimpses of what I heard and saw:



Take a look at the home of Anil Padwal. It is a house of say 20ft by 20 ft [perhaps less]. Three buffalos stay in the same place [you can spot two buffalos in the pic] along with Anil and his family; his home does not have any walls within to make it into separate rooms. There is no electricity connection and even during the day there is insufficient light.



Ganesh Shirke scored 90% marks in the 12th standard and is now studying in polytechnic at Mumbra. He walked 15 Km for his attending school every day. He lived in a similar place, no electricity, no water, no basic amenities. Ganesh is spends long hours in library. He is motivated by the story of Kalpana Chawla, the Indian born American Astronaut who lost her life in NASA mission.



Madhuri Vishe chose the Arts Stream. She scored 75% marks in 12th standard. She preferred to enrol for B.Ed. course in order to find a good job soon. She lived in a veranda of a small house with her mother! Same story of no electricity or water. Walking long miles for schooling. Reportedly the family undergoes extreme harassment from other members of their joint family and her mother’s woes have no limit. Her father works as a loader, it is no permanent job, and he is a casual worker. Interestingly Madhuri and her other two siblings are brilliant in their studies and are supported by Vidya-Daan Mandal.



Prakash Gaikwad also comes from similar background. He scored 83% in SSC. He acknowledges the debt of his parents who live below subsistence level. He declared that he will be supporting a needy student when he finds employment! [I felt that I had so much to learn from these boys and girls!]. He is inspired by Veena Gawankar’s book ‘Ek Hota Carver’ [translation of the original English book based on George Washington Carver’ life]. He could not afford to buy it so he started copying one page a day! Prakash has enrolled for BSc with Microbiology at Birla College, Kalyan.

These are all unsung heroes, fighting against all odds. [This post is not written with a view to solicit any donation, but with a view to bring to attention what a group of inspired people can do to change the world around us.]

All our donors, Karyakartas and well wishers along with their family members/ friends are co-ordially invited for this programme.

Idea behind organising this programme at Kinhavali is to give first hand experience about the alarming situation about education and other basic facilities, which are easily accessible to many of us and therefore taken for granted.

Our students show immense mental strength in overcoming not only economic as well as social adversities which are unknown or
unimaginable to many of us. A visit to the village and the homes of one or two students, will give us opportunity to feel the situation
and get closer to the wards and parents whom you have been generously lending a helping hand so far.

शहापूर : दोन्ही पायाने अपंग असलेल्या गोविंद बांगर या ११ वीत शिकत असलेल्या विद्यार्थ्यांच्या शिक्षण घेण्यासाठी चाललेल्या धडपडीला ठाणे येथील विद्यादान सहाय्यता मंडळाने प्रोत्साहन दिले असून, त्याच्या संपूर्ण शिक्षणासाठी सर्वतोपरी सहाय्य करून पालकत्व स्वीकारले आहे. ठाणे वृत्तान्तमध्ये ‘दोन्ही पाय लुळे, तरीही शिक्षणासाठी परिस्थितीशी दोन हात..’ अशा आशयाचे वृत्त प्रसिद्ध झाले होते.
गोविंद बांगर हा जन्मजात दोन्ही पायांनी अपंग असलेला विद्यार्थी मूळचा शहापूर तालुक्यातील टाकीपठार या अतिदुर्गम भागातील टिकबायचा पाडा या गावातला. सध्या तो पद्मश्री अण्णासाहेब जाधव संचालित सरळगाव येथील वसतिगृहात राहतो. व सरळगाव (ता. मुरबाड) येथील कनिष्ठ महाविद्यालयात अकरावीत कला शाखेत शिकत आहे. १० गुंठे जमीन असलेले व दारिद्रय़ रेषेखालील आईवडील मोलमजुरी करून गोविंदचे भवितव्य घडवीत आहेत. सरळगाव हायस्कूलचे प्राचार्य चंद्रकांत थोरात व शिक्षक गोविंदचा हौसला बुलंद करीत आहेत.
या जिद्दी गोविंदची कहाणी ‘वृत्तान्त’मध्ये प्रसिद्ध होताच ठाणे येथील विद्यादान सहाय्यता मंडळाचे भाऊ नानिवडेकर, गीता शहा, अंजना कुलकर्णी, जोगळेकर यांनी गोिवद शिकत असलेल्या सरळगाव हायस्कूलला भेट दिली व गोिवदच्या शिक्षणासाठी व त्याला पुढे मोठे होण्यासाठी विद्यादान मंडळाने सर्व पाठबळ देण्याचा शब्द विद्यालयाचे प्राचार्य चंद्रकांत थोरात यांनी दिला. त्यावेळी विद्यादान सहाय्यता मंडळासारखी जाणीव असलेली सहृदयी माणसे समाजात आहेत याची प्रचिती आली. यावेळी सर्वांचेच डोळे पाणावले होते.गोविंद या जिद्दी मुलाचे शिक्षणाचे स्वप्न साकारावे याकरिता डोंबिवली (पूर्व) येथील कुमार भालके गुरुजी यांनीही थेट सरळगाव हायस्कूल गाठून गोविंदला पाच हजार रुपयांची मदत केली आहे. तर गोविंद शिकत असलेल्या सरळगाव हायस्कूलमधील शिक्षक-शिक्षकेतर कर्मचाऱ्यांनी व विद्यार्थ्यांनी आपल्या खाऊचे पैसे देऊन एकाच दिवशी सुमारे सहा हजार रुपये जमा करून गोविंदच्या धडपडीला अनोखा सलाम केला आहे.
सरळगाव हायस्कूलमध्ये गोविंदचे पालकत्व घेण्यासाठी आलेल्या विद्यादान मंडळाने गोविंदच्या शिक्षकांचेही कौतुक केले. यावेळी सरळगाव हायस्कूलच्या शालेय समितीचे चेअरमन नारायण घुडे व सदस्य काशिनाथ झुंजारराव उपस्थित होते. ठाणे येथील विद्यादान मंडळाच्या पालकत्वामुळे गोविंदच्या शिक्षणाला आता एकप्रकारे पालवीच फुटली आहे.दोन्ही पाय अधू असलेल्या गोविंदला कधी सरपटत जाऊन तर कधी आई-वडील पाठीवर घेऊन शाळेला पाठवीत होते. काहींनी तर गोविंदला शिकविण्यापेक्षा रेल्वे स्टेशनवर सोडून देऊन पैसे कमविण्याचा सल्ला दिला होता, असे गोविंदच्या आई-वडिलांनी सांगताच सर्वांच्याच डोळ्यात अश्रू आले. मात्र दारिद्रय़ाशी झगडत गोिवदला शिक्षणाची कवाडे खुली करून गंगाराम बांगर व आई सुनीता बांगर यांनी ध्येयवादी पित्याची भूमिका साकारली आहे. अधिक मदतीसाठी भाऊ नानिवडेकर यांच्याशी (९९२०३६७५७०) संपर्क साधावा.

Detail Operational Procedure

1. Collect the information about the deserving students, whom we should consider for assistance.
2. Verify the information by visiting their homes and meeting them and their parents.
3. Take from them the Applications filled in, giving all necessary information.
4. On other side Mandal will enlist the donors for this purpose. All such donors are automatically members
of this Mandal.
5. All donors will contribute at least Rs.250/-p.m. We will prefer donors with Rs.500/-p.m. as that is the
requirement for Food & Lodging for one student. Contributing for a year or six months is orefered.
6. Collect from all such donors their monthly contributions on or before 15th of each month. While
collecting this cash, give kachcha receipt.
7. Enter such collection in the Books of Accounts.
8. Donors who contribute Rs.500/-p.m. and are desirous of accepting Palakatva of one student should be
given the name of such adopted student; which will continue to be so as long as donor desires to continue
their relationship. In such cases Donor can think of meeting other expenses of the student with
information to Mandal.
9. Taking into consideration the funds and the requirements of the students; Mandal will select the
beneficiaries for the year. They will also allot students to donors, who desire to accept Palakatva of
students. Mandal will also finalise fund allocation for the year.
10. Mandal will arrange to pass on the donated amount to respective student, who in turn will confirm in
writing, that he has received X amount.
11. On receipt of the donation amount, concerned student will send his Report Letter (in the prescribed
form) to donor parent with a copy to Mandal.
12 Mandal will keep files/record, student wise giving their in full information from start to end.
13. Mandal will keep the accounts in such a manner that they are able to give Accounts donorwise, as well
as student wise. Such report will be sent to each donor periodically; say every six months.

14. Mandal should consider the Meeting of all it’s members periodically.
15. Mandal will try to build up the Study Book Bank from where the students can take loan of books for a
year. This bank can be built up by taking donation of second hand books.
16. Mandal also try to develope circulating Liabrary of the Biographies of those, who could be Roll Models
for these students.
17. Our help should be need based; means students should be made to think clear about their needs to
achieve their goal. Goal is HIS/HER goal and we are just extending our help in journey towards the
goal.
18. In addition to college studies, we should make special efforts to ensure that they do not loose habit of
their heard work life and just switch over to urban habits/life style. This means we should cauciously
avoid creating/increasing gap between students and their family/relatives/friends.
19. Students should continue to share the burden of their parents and if they think of alternatives for
improving their family status, they should do it together with parent’s participation.
20. We should also try to convince the students to attend to Shram Sanskar/ Other camps, every year. This
will help them to get better understanding of society and will result into making them social assets.
After starting earning, they must extend their help to those who are in need of the same.
21. During the long holidays students should earn by doing some work (For which we should extend our
help). Otherwise we will convert them from “Hard working/ effort making child” to “guardian
dependent easy going child” .
22. We can also arrange for Aptitude Tests before taking college admission.
23. We should also arrange for them periodical Medical Check Up.

OBJECTIVES OF THE MANDAL:-

1. In society, there are number of students, who in spite of their desire to continue their education,
they are unable to do so, due to lack of financial support. We have to make efforts to resolve
this problem and give them the opportunity to continue their education.
2. At the same time, there are number of people who due to their awareness of social obligation;
are desirous of helping such cause. But they are unable to find such deserving students and
further to ensure that their contribution will be used properly. Hence their desire does not get
converted into action.
3. Taking into consideration this situation, Mandal will co-ordinate with both these Parties. This
will result into an opportunity to deserving students to continue their Education; where as it will
also give the opportunity to donors to participate in this Noble cause.
4. While ensuring the students educational progress, Mandal will make efforts to ensure their all
round development to make them good citizens of our country and assets to the society. For
which, attention will be paid to following:-
A) Habit to plan and review their goals and also to review the progress on that path.
B) Habit of working hard and enjoying the same.
C) To be grateful to all those who have contributed in their progress.
D) Utilizing the opportunity that they are getting and when they become self Supporting,
provide similar opportunities to the deserving students.
